Michael G. Beat, MD, MPH
Dr. Beat is the Medical Director and Radiation Oncologist at Arch Cancer Care who leads a team of highly skilled professionals specializing in radiation therapy. He joined the practice of St. Louis Urological Surgeons in April 2009. Dr. Beat became interested in cancer research and treatment while studying cancer biology at Kansas State University earning his degree with cum laude distinction. He obtained a Master's in Public Health at Tulane University. His residency was completed at Washington University/Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis focusing on radiation therapy and cancer care.
While serving in the United States Army, Dr. Beat was the Chief of Radiation Therapy at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and Brooke Army Medical Center. Upon leaving the military, he moved to St. Louis and joined the St. Louis Cancer & Breast Institute to manage the breast cancer program and develop the prostate cancer program. Due to his time in the service, Dr. Beat feels a special connection with his prostate cancer patients who are military veterans and suffer from the disease.
Dr. Beat's family includes his wife, Kelly, their daughter Courtney and son Brandon. In his free time, Dr. Beat enjoys attending his children's sporting events, skiing and traveling.
